Everyone deals with stress in their lives, but stress, especially long-term chronic stress, can make your perimenopause symptoms worse. There are 2 major ways that stress can intensify your perimenopause symptoms.

Certain symptoms can be aggravated by short-term stress, like getting stuck in a traffic jam or having an argument. Many women say that this type of stress triggers hot flashes and it is a known cause of anxiety. Stress can also interfere with sleep, contributing to common perimenopause symptoms like insomnia and fatigue.

Dr. Marina Rose, DC uses Chiropractic care and Functional Nutrition to perimenopause symptoms to help women around the San Jose, CA to resolve their stress and reduce their symptoms.

The other major way that stress makes perimenopause symptoms worse has to do with chronic, long-term stress. This is the kind of stress that wears on the adrenal glands so they have a harder time helping your body cope with stress.

The adrenal glands actually have an important role during menopause. Their proper function is a key factor in your wellbeing during the perimenopause transition. Dr. Christiane Northrup agrees that adrenal exhaustion can make periemnopause symptoms worse.
